Marie Schuller

Marie's work shines with a unique blend of humor, absurdity, and a distinctive visual style. With a keen eye for casting, styling, tone, and pacing, she effortlessly crafts cohesive worlds that captivate audiences. (...)

Having earned her degree in filmmaking from NFT and a MA in photography from UAL, Marie's talent caught the attention of industry heavyweight Nick Night, who appointed her as Head of Fashion Film at his prestigious SHOWstudio. Over five dynamic years, she collaborated with top labels and talents, leaving an indelible mark on the fashion film landscape.
“Once I left SHOWstudio and Nick's mentorship, I started exploring my own practice and find my own style. When I started thinking more intensely about the structure and cinematic flow of my own films, I had to seriously adjust my approach to editing. I moved away from heavy post-production and became much rawer and intimate in my work. I started working with narrative and dialogue and made use of the elements that make film unique and differ to photography.”
A closer look at Marie's portfolio reveals films that forge intimate connections with viewers, breaking down the barriers often found in traditional advertising. Her work is irreverent, playful, and visually striking, setting new standards for brand desirability.
Marie's direction has earned her numerous accolades, including awards from ASVOFF, AFFA, and Fashion Film Festivals in Milan, Berlin, Santiago de Chile, and Chicago. In the parallel universe of photography, Marie’s stills have graced the covers of fashion publications including Numero, Vogue, King Kong, L’Officiel, and Elle.
